This is why I don't go to the beach. Hell, even the barest hint of a summers day makes me shower in sunscreen.
Aloe vera gel cooled in the fridge will soothe the burn and the pain. Either directly from the plant or you can buy a tube of it from the pharmacy.
Or a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water applied to the burn. Or half a cup of bicarb of soda in a luke warm bath and soak in it for 15 minutes.
Apparently vinegar is more effective in treating sunburn than aloe vera so try dabbing vinegar on cotton balls and gently brushing the cotton balls over the burned area. Or 16oz of vinegar in a lukewarm bath and soak for 15 minutes. If you can't stand the smell of the vinegar you can also add a few drops of lavendar oil to the bathwater.
Apparently the pain is worst in the first 6 - 48 hours after getting sunburned, so hopefully you'll feel better soon.
And put on sunscreen next time!!
Maybe you can call in sick from heatstroke or something on Thursday?

That's what happens to me every time. Going to the beach sure would be less painful if I had skin that would tan instead of burn.
I don't want to go to work anyday.
Ah, the beach...

Thank you, Joders.
I feel much better today. Yesterday was killer, though.
I WISH I could call in sick :(
